Peter Maass on Countering Guerilla War in Iraq

Our good friend Peter ("Mucho") Maass is making us proud with his war-time reporting in Iraq. Most recently, he had a long piece published in yesterday's Sunday NY Times Magazine about counterinsurgency warfare in Iraq, titled "Professor Nagl's War," for which Peter recently spent two weeks back in that war zone reporting. Read it soon before you have to pay for it in NYT's online archives, as the Sunday magazine doesn't get archived for free via RSS.

You actually have another chance to get his perspective on this when he will be interviewed live on radio tomorrow (Tuesday) as a guest on the tremendously erudite Leonard Lopate show on WNYC radio, scheduled for the 12:40 pm (EST) slot. That is at 820 AM or 93.9 FM on your New York area radio dial. The show is also rebroadcast live on the web and is stored in their online archives, so you can catch it at your leisure.

He is also being featured Tuesday night on NPR's leading talk show Fresh Air, with host Terry Gross. Again, if you can't hear the show when it broadcasts on the radio (nationally distributed; check local times on the site), you can also hear it on the web after it appears in the show's archive.
